About

Izzy Lane is a cutting edge and unique ethical luxury brand and has in its short existence, since 2007, established its credentials as one of the leading ethical brands in the world and the leading voice of animal welfare in the fashion industry as well as being a leading voice for the use of British wool and the British Textile Industry.

At its core are the 600 rare breed sheep that have been rescued. Our flock of Wensleydale and Shetland sheep comprises mainly of animals that would have been sent to slaughter for being male, missing a pregnancy, being a little lame, being too small, being too old or having imperfections such as a black spot in a white fleece. We pay equal and better prices to save them. These sheep will live out their whole natural lives in our sheep sanctuary in North Yorkshire and their wool is used in our knitwear and wovens.
We show our collection during London Fashion Week and won the prestigious RSPCA Good Business Award in 2008 and were finalists again for the October 2010 awards. We have won the RE New Designer of the Year Award at the world’s first ethical fashion awards in Shoreditch and were also asked to show our collection in a catwalk show for the Queen.

Izzy Lane had extensive press coverage with lengthy articles and features in the Times, Sunday Times, Guardian, Independent, Telegraph, Daily Mail, You Magazine, Grazia, Marie-Claire, Cosmopolitan, Daily Express and Vogue as well as in international press and BBC TV and radio coverage.

The fibres which we use for the knits and wovens are from our own flocks of rare breed Shetlands and Wensleydales. The cloth and yarns are processed, spun and woven in the UK.
The Shetlands, a small primitive breed have fibre as soft as cashmere. Their fleeces are woven into cloth for our range of Jackets, Coats and Skirts.
The Wensleydales produce a fine, lustrous knitting yarn which can be worn against the skin. There are only 1800 Wensleydales in the world and some 3000 Shetlands.
Izzy Lane’s vegetarian shoe and boot collection is handmade by a cobbler in the East End of London from faux leathers, croc and snakeskins and organic cotton.
